Artisan Bicycle Racks – I Bike Hermosa
The artisan bike racks project provided locally-designed, attractive bike racks in the shapes of surfboards and waves throughout Hermosa Beach. The bike racks provide unique landmarks in Hermosa Beach contributing to the City’s ongoing beautification efforts. The project also encourages local businesses patronage and promotes environmentally friendly means of transportation helping to support Hermosa Beach’s carbon neutral efforts. The bike racks, designed by South Bay local artist Daniel Baranbo, were officially unveiled on Saturday, June 11th at 14th Street and the Strand.
“Working with the Hermosa Beach Leadership group was a great experience,” Baranbo said. “Everyone in the group was dedicated to getting great things done within their community. I’m happy I was given the opportunity to work on such a cool project within my own community and so close to home. Hermosa Beach has done a lot for me and it’s great to be able to give a little something back.”
